Rex's practice is primarily complex business litigation, including contract, fraud, antitrust and intellectual property disputes.
Experience: Rex has been litigating cases in federal and state courts in Washington and elsewhere for over 20 years. Most of those were at Perkins Coie, where he started in 1981 with their product liability group, became a partner in 1987 and continued practicing until 2000. He split his time there between large, multi-party and often multi-jurisdictional aviation disaster cases on behalf of Boeing, and other business and products liability defense cases for clients such as General Motors, Genie Industries and Allied Signal.
Rex withdrew from Perkins Coie in 2000 to pursue a life-long interest in creative writing, which has so far led to one finished novel, two others in work, several writing awards and a number of published articles and stories. He also built a free-lance editing practice and developed two well-received CLE's for lawyers, helping them increase the clarity and persuasiveness of their writing.
Rex started with the Summit Law Group in 2005, assisting with the RealNetworks v. Microsoft litigation, and continues to apply his blend of writing and litigation skills to other matters with the litigation group.
