Renee Niemi serves as Vice President and General Manager for the Mobile and Entertainment Group at Plantronics, where she is responsible for leading the development, product management, marketing, and business initiatives for consumer headset solutions.
Mrs. Niemi joined Plantronics in 2003 with nearly 17 years experience in the mobile computing and communications industries. A veteran of Silicon Valley, Niemi has held senior positions with companies such as Danger, Inc., Visto Corporation, Mobilesys, Inc., Xircom and NEC Technologies. As Vice President of Marketing at Danger, Mrs. Niemi led the launch of the T-Mobile Sidekick, which is today one of the most popular mobile communication devices with services targeting the youth market. Mrs. Niemi also spent close to seven years at Xircom, Inc., where she served as Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, responsible for branding, product strategy, market development, e-commerce, and marketing. Through her efforts, Niemi helped build Xircom's business from $59M in 1992 to $408M in 1999.
A graduate of Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California, Niemi holds a BS in Electrical Engineering. She also earned a certificate in General Management for High Technology from Stanford University’s IEEE joint program.
