Rene Jaeggi started his impressive career as Sales Manager at W.R. Grace Chemicals in Zurich and R.J. Reynolds in Geneva. In 1982, he became Manager of Central Europe at Duracell AG. From 1986 to 1993, he was the CEO of Adidas AG where he was responsible for over 14,000 employees and revenues in excess of USD 4 billion. After 1993, he was co-owner of Romika GmbH in Germany, Chairman of H.T.M in Vienna, Chairman of StairMaster in the US, as well as member of the board of Rutledge Capital also in the US. He is currently Chairman of Flora Eco Power AG in Munich, a public bio energy company.
Besides a businessman, Mr. Jaeggi is also an athlete himself as well as a sports organizer and manager. He holds a 1st Dan in Ju-Jitsu and 5th Dan in Judo. In 2002, he was the President of the Organization Committee of the Judo World Championships in Basel. He was the President of the Swiss soccer club, FC Basel, which he led to the European Champions League and winning the Swiss Cup in 2002, as well as the President of the German soccer club 1. FC Kaiserslautern from 2002 to 2006, which he led to the cup final in Germany in 2003.
Mr. Jaeggi was educated in University of St. Gallen and Waseda University of Tokyo. He is fluent in German, English, French, Italian and Japanese.
