Rene Ruiz concentrates his practice on employment litigation and advice, including harassment and discrimination cases. He also advises clients regarding compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and state and federal whistleblower statutes. In addition, Rene provides management-level individuals with training on litigation avoidance.
Rene has extensive experience in federal and state courts, as well as numerous federal and state administrative agencies. He is admitted to all Florida state courts and the Southern District of Florida. Currently, he sits on the Board of Directors for the Miami Children's Museum Charter School. Rene is fluent in Spanish. He was listed in Florida Trend magazine as an "Up and Coming" lawyer in its 2006 and 2007 "Florida Legal Elite" listing. He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America.
During law school, he interned with the Honorable Stephen T. Brown and the Honorable Ted E. Bandstra in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He also served on the Editorial Board of the University of Miami Law Review.
