Reinhard Ambros, Ph.D. was appointed global head of the Novartis Venture Fund in April 2006 after being Managing Director of the Novartis BioVenture Fund, Cambridge, USA. Before he worked with Novartis Corporate Finance where he held the position of Head of Group Strategic Planning for several years. Previously he was responsible for post merger integrations at Novartis Corporate M&A and prior to that held the position of global head BD&L cardiovascular and metabolic diseases at Novartis Pharma. Earlier in his career he had global leadership positions with increasing responsibilities for key drug development projects at Novartis and Roche. He trained as a pharmacist, has a Ph.D in medicinal chemistry and pharmacology and focused postdoctoral training on clinical pharmacology |
