Rebecca Jarvis is a general assignment reporter, based at CNBC’s world headquarters. She can also be seen reporting live from the NASDAQ Market Site and the New York Mercantile Exchange.
To her reporting, Jarvis brings hands-on business experience in both investment banking and foreign currency trading. As an investment banker with Banc of America Securities, she analyzed and advised $6 billion in mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt transactions. Prior to that, she executed interest rate trades on Citigroup's foreign exchange desk in London.
Jarvis left financial services to pursue a career in journalism and has written for publications ranging from Crain’s Chicago Business to Business 2.0. She is currently a governor on the board of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers.
Jarvis graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Economics and Law, Letters & Society. A recipient of the University of Chicago Dean’s Grant, she also studied European banking and financial markets at the Universite Sciences Po and Dauphine Universite in Paris, France. |
