Raymond S. Sims, Vice President, is head of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. He has consulted to a wide variety of business and industrial clients, as well as governmental agencies, on engagements involving valuation, strategic management of intellectual property assets, negotiation strategy, accounting, financial and statistical analysis, and economic modelling. His consulting experience has covered a number of industries, including pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals, medical products, semiconductors, computers and electronics, automotive, consumer products, telecommunications, and gaming equipment. He frequently advises companies and their counsel regarding economic issues in commercial litigation and has testified as an expert witness in a wide range of litigation, including patent, copyright and trademark infringement, theft of trade secrets, commercial contract disputes, antitrust, dealership termination, dumping, breach of fiduciary duty, and securities violation cases. While the issues have varied from case to case, most include an analysis and evaluation of financial and market data for purposes of determining the extent of damages. Mr. Sims also has analyzed accounting, production, cost, and market data for the purpose of assessing liability or causation in litigation matters. |
