Rauke Henstra was appointed to the Executive Committee of Corus from April 2004. In January 2008, he became Chief Operating Officer.
Rauke Henstra was born on 19 February 1946 in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands. He was educated at Delft Technical University where he gained a degree in mechanical engineering.
Rauke entered Koninklijke Hoogovens in 1973 as a project engineer in the Engineering Department. From 1976 to 1993 he held a number of technical positions until becoming Managing Director of Productgroep Ijzer. From 1995 he was Managing Director Hoogovens Steel Primary Products and on formation of Corus in 1999 was appointed Managing Director Corus Iron and Site Manager for IJmuiden.
In 2000 he was appointed Managing Director Corus Strip Products IJmuiden and Site Manager IJmuiden, a position he held until 2 April 2004 when he was appointed Division Director Strip Products and member of the Executive Committee.
