Raph Appadoo joined Laureate in 2000. As president of the company, Mr. Appadoo oversees all of Laureate’s campus-based operations, with a particular focus on the universities in Europe, and heads Laureate’s rapidly growing international expansion efforts.
Previously, Mr. Appadoo served as president and CEO of the company's campus-based division since its inception in early 2000. He was instrumental not only in forming the campus-based business, but in leading its growth worldwide.
Before joining Laureate, Mr. Appadoo held a number of senior executive positions with Aetna, including executive vice president of its international division, senior vice president for business development and CFO. He also served as treasurer with Merrill Lynch-Europe and General Motors-Mexico, and held management positions with Raytheon in Paris and Brussels.
Mr. Appadoo has an MBA from the University of Chicago, a Master of Science degree from the University of Southampton, and a Bachelor's degree from the London School of Economics. He is fluent in multiple languages.
