Monson is the Director of New Products at Belo Interactive. She is responsible for the creation and implementation of new products for Belo’s network of 34 Websites. Monson joined Belo Interactive in 2006 when the company formed its Product Development group. The move marks her return to Belo, where she initially began her career as a reporter for the Arlington Morning News, covering business and politics. She won awards for using the Freedom of Information Act in her reporting. Monson also was a Katy Award finalist for business reporting. In 1999, Monson left reporting to work for Yahoo! Broadcast. The move marked the beginning of her marketing career. There, she worked as a producer and in the R&D group on the company’s global streaming strategy. Her next stop was AOL, running the D-FW site for Digital Cities. Monson then joined Sabre Holdings, the travel company that owns Travelocity. There, she worked in Sabre’s Product Development group and as a Product Manager for Travelocity Business. Monson received her journalism degree from Northwestern University, with a concentration in economics. She earned her MBA in Marketing from the University of Dallas with honors, earning membership in SIE. |
