Mr. Martinez has been a director of the company since April 1, 2004. Mr. Martinez has served as Chief Executive Officer of the company since January 2005, President and Chief Executive Officer of World Airways from April 2004 to January 2005 and served as President and Chief Operating Officer from November 2003 to April 1, 2004. Mr. Martinez previously served as Executive Vice President, Marketing & Administration since June 2002. He joined the company in October 1998 as the Director of Crew Resources and was appointed to be the Special Assistant to the Chairman in May 1999. In August 1999, he was named Chief Information Officer of World Airways. Mr. Martinez came to the Company after a distinguished 21-year career with the United States Air Force (Colonel, retired, and Command Pilot). Prior to his leaving the United States Air Force, he was the Principal Advisor to the Chief of Staff of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s (NATO) senior-most Strategic Planning Staff. Mr. Martinez also served as the Senior Aide-de-Camp to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon, Commander of the 457th Airlift Squadron at Andrews Air Force Base (AFB) in Maryland and Chief of the Wing Standardization & Evaluation Division in DESERT STORM for C-130’s. He is a combat experienced pilot and decorated officer.
