Rana H. Salti is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Chicago office. As a member of the Private Client Department, she focuses her practice on wealth transfer and business succession strategies for families of significant wealth.
Prior to joining the Firm, Rana was an attorney in the trusts and estates department of an international law firm, where she advised clients on estate and business planning issues, including leveraged transfers of wealth, transfer tax issues, business succession planning, charitable giving, and fiduciary litigation proceedings.
Rana recently completed her L.L.M. in Taxation at Northwestern University School of Law, where her coursework included advanced transfer tax planning, fiduciary income tax issues, partnership taxation planning, corporate taxation issues, international taxation planning, and accounting (at the Kellogg School of Management).
Rana was selected to receive the American Bar Association Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section Fellowship for 2006 to 2008. As a fellow, Rana has worked with the Section's Estate and Gift Tax Committee and the Business Planning Group to present on topics including preferred partnerships and federal estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax issues. She is a member of and past speaker to the Trust Law Committee of the Chicago Bar Association. She serves on the membership committee of the Chicago Estate Planning Council.
She is admitted to practice in Illinois.
