Ralph E. Gomory is a Director of the Company. Mr. Gomory is the President of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization, and serves on the board of directors of The Washington Post Company, Lexmark International, Inc., and the Polaroid Corporation. Prior to joining the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Mr. Gomory held a number of positions with IBM, including Director of IBM’s Mathematical Sciences Department, Director of Research and Senior Vice President for Science and Technology. In addition, Mr. Gomory was a member of IBM’s Corporate Management Board. Mr. Gomory retired from IBM in 1989. Mr. Gomory graduated from Williams College in 1950, studied at Cambridge University and received his Ph.D. in mathematics from Princeton University in 1954. |
