Mr. Raj Datt is Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Kennametal Inc. (NYSE:KMT). In this position, Mr. Datt is responsible for all Global Information Technology resources worldwide. He joined Kennametal in September 2006.
Prior to joining Kennametal, Mr. Datt served as Vice President and CIO for Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of North America. He began his career with McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) in 1988, and has been exposed to multiple businesses during his career including assignments with overseeing projects globally in major industrial/manufacturing, automotive businesses, space and defense, and consumer credit services. In 1990, he assumed his first business leadership position as Corporate Audit Leader in Redondo Beach, California. Following this assignment, he became Director of Finance and Administration at TRW (Experian) and eventually was responsible for IT & eBusiness Solutioning for TRW (Northrop Grumman). Mr. Datt spent considerable time at GE Transportation Systems and GE Power Systems where he held positions of increasing responsibility in IT, as the CIO for GE Energy Rentals Inc., and as the Director of Global ERP Center of Excellence worldwide. Mr. Datt was elected as an Executive of Matsushita Electronics USA in 2004 and Vice President in October 2005.
Mr. Datt has over 17 years of experience driving significant business transformation and enabling growth and efficiency. He was awarded 2006 CIO 100 for -IT Innovation and Business Transformation- and Computer World 100 IT Premier leader for 2007.
Born in India, Mr. Datt attended Doon School, Dehra Dun, India. He graduated from the University of Northridge, California, in finance and accounting and completed an executive program in supply chain management at UCLA. He currently resides with his wife and two children in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. |
