Rachel Repka is an associate in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Silicon Valley office. She is a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department and focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation. Tercica, Tercica, Inc. et al. v. Insmed Incorporated - represented Tercica and Genentech in a patent infringement lawsuit involving recombinantly produced hormones.
AstraZeneca, In re Omeprazole Patent Litigation - successfully defended a multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical company against validity challenges to its patent protection for one of the world's leading selling prescription drugs.
Her technical knowledge is exemplified through her role as a research assistant at NASA Ames Research Center analyzing microorganisms thriving in biological extremes; as well as a research assistant at UCLA Medical Center where she managed and coordinated several scientific research projects involving silicon breast implants, HIV vaccine, and artificial blood construct. Rachel has four published scientific articles in the Journal of Applied Biomaterials, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science and Journal of Controlled Release .
Rachel holds her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law and her bachelor's degree in cellular and molecular biology from the University of California at Los Angeles. She is admitted to practice in California, New York, before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
