Rachel D. Hoy is a Director in the Dispute Advisory & Forensic Services Group and the Ohio Practice Leader for Forensic Services. The practice encompasses all areas of forensic investigation, including internal investigations, forensic accounting and computer forensics. Ms. Hoy serves litigating counsel, corporate counsel, general counsels, audit committees and various boards as both a consultant and expert witness. Ms. Hoy also has significant experience providing a broad range of business and financial advice to trial lawyers throughout the dispute process, including matters involving fraud and forensic investigations, shareholder disputes, breach of contract, post-merger and acquisition disputes, business interruption, intellectual property infringement and environmental remediation. Ms. Hoy s experience encompasses a wide array of industries. These include aviation, manufacturing, telecommunications, education, retail, health care, distribution, professional service companies, technology, real estate, governmental and environmental. Ms. Hoy has presented various topics to the Cleveland Bar Association and law firms for continuing legal education credit. In addition, she has served as an expert witness for mock trial programs. Prior to joining our firm, Ms. Hoy was a Business Manager for Flight Options, Inc., a leading fractional jet provider. Previous work experience also includes the Dispute Consulting and Forensic Investigations practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP in Ohio and Michigan. Ms. Hoy earned her BSB in Accounting and Management Information Systems from Miami University. She is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of Ohio and a Certified Fraud Examiner. In addition, Ms. Hoy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and associate member of the American Bar Association (Criminal Justice and Litigation section.) |
