Rachel B. Cowen is a partner on the Labor and Employment Team in the firm's HR Law Practice Group. Rachel, who joined the firm from Connelly Sheehan Harris LLP, handles the full range of labor and employment issues.
She regularly represents employers facing union organizing activity and picketing. She has successfully tried numerous cases before the National Labor Relations Board. She handles collective bargaining and labor arbitrations for her clients as well.
Rachel routinely handles complex trade secret and non-competition cases. She handles such cases on an emergency injunctive basis as well as successfully trying them to verdict for money damages, and she's won cases as both the plaintiff and the defendant. Rachel works with numerous financial services companies and professional engineering firms and has developed a niche in representing these companies in unfair competition cases.
She regularly represents clients in employment discrimination and wrongful termination cases pending in federal and state courts throughout the United States.
In General. Rachel graduated with high honors 1993 from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was a member of the law review and Order of the Coif. Following law school, Rachel served as a law clerk to U.S. Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey in the Northern District of Indiana. Rachel is admitted to practice in Illinois, along with several federal courts elsewhere. |
