Scientific Founder and Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology ( University of California Irvine ) is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Zhou is a leading expert in prokineticin research. Dr. Zhou has published pivotal studies on the role of prokineticin 1, prokineticin 2 and the prokineticin receptors in gastrointestinal motility and circadian rhythm. His research interests are in the area of G-protein-coupled receptors. In addition to publishing key papers on the prokineticins, Dr. Zhou has published extensively on the dopamine receptors. He received an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation award for research in Neuroscience and has competed successfully for funding from the NIH, MRC of Canada and Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. Prior to his current position at the University of California , Irvine , Dr. Zhou was an Assistant Professor, Clarke Institute, Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto and held a postdoctoral fellowship position at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, University of Washington . He received his Ph.D., from the Vollum Institute, Oregon Health Sciences University. |
