Preston is a registered patent attorney and practices in the areas of intellectual property and general commercial litigation at Jones Waldo.
Preston graduated Order of the Coif from the University of Utah's S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2006. While in law school, Preston was Editor-in-Chief of the Utah Law Review and published a note entitled Safety Nets and Side Effects: Regulatory Takings and Alternative Compensation Structures Created in Response to the Desert Tortoise Listing in Southern Utah, 2005 Utah Law Review 997. Preston also completed judicial clinics with Judge Judith Billings of the Utah Court of Appeals and Judge Ted Stewart of the U.S. District Court in the District of Utah. After graduating from law school, Preston worked as a law clerk for Judge Stewart before returning to Jones Waldo.
