He has with more than 30 years of experience in the global banking industry. His career spans thirty years in International Banking and three years in Information Technology. He was President of eFunds International; a wholly owned subsidiary of the NYSE listed eFunds Corporation, a US based I.T. company, from 2000 to 2003. Prior to this, he was Managing Director and CEO of the South Asia Region of ING Barings, the Netherlands' based Corporate and Investment Bank. Earlier he was an Executive Director with the Merrill Lynch International Bank, London, Merrill's International Private Bank. In the mid Nineties he was CEO and Country Manager of the Indian Operations of the Dubai based MashreqBank. He was COO of Commercial Bank of Oman, Muscat, a subsidiary of the Bahrain based Gulf International Bank in the early Nineties. From the mid-Seventies to the late eighties he was at the American Express Bank where he served in the US, UK and India, his final assignment being Vice President and Country Corporate Banking Head. He started his banking career with the then National and Grindlays Bank, in 1970 and served in India and the U.K. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and a Master's in Management Sciences from the University of Bombay. |
