Dr. Piet Jansen joined WorldHeart in February 2004 as Chief Medical Officer and was appointed Managing Director of WorldHeart's European Operations in July 2004.
Dr. Jansen has over 7 years of experience in the implantable ventricular assist industry including senior medical and research roles for Edwards Lifesciences LLC (previously Baxter cardiovascular group) where he worked directly with the Novacor® LVAS, and with Jarvik Heart Inc. where he was Vice-President Clinical Affairs.
Piet Jansen earned an MD, PhD in Pathophysiology of Extracorporeal Circulation and a Masters Degree in Epidemiology. In addition, Dr. Jansen has over 8 years clinical experience in cardiac surgery.
Dr. Jansen is based out of the Company's European office in Heesch, Netherlands. |
