Dr. Villeneuve founded Cambrius with the vision of commercializing compact, robust, and low-cost optical chemical sensors. Previously, Dr. Villeneuve was CEO of Clarendon Photonics, a manufacturer of integrated optical components using standard CMOS processes. Prior to Clarendon, Dr. Villeneuve was a Research Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he headed research efforts in the fields of ultra-low threshold micro-lasers, optical emitters, and photonic crystals. Concurrently, he consulted for Lucent, Corning and Polaroid. He also held an Assistant Professor position at Brown University and was a guest lecturer at MIT. He authored 24 patents, over 60 articles in scientific literature and a book chapter. Dr. Villeneuve holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Laval University, Canada. |
