As a partner as Sequoia Capital, Pierre Lamond focuses on components, software and systems investments. He is also a director of Santur, Turin Networks, Open Silicon and Luxim. Mr. Lamond has been the Chairman of Vitesse Semiconductor (VTSS), Redback Networks (RBAK), Plumtree Software (PLUM), Verisity Design (VRST), Cypress Semiconductor (CY), Microchip (MCHP), Combichem (acquired by Dupont) and a Director of VitalSigns Software (acquired by International Network Services, LU), Convex Computer (acquired by HP) and MarchFirst (MRCH) (formerly USWeb/CKS).Before joining Sequoia Capital in 1981, Mr. Lamond was a founder and technical director of National Semiconductor and the general manager of Fairchild's Integrated Circuit Division. He has also been the president of Advent, a consumer electronics company and Coherent, a manufacturer of lasers. Mr. Lamond is a past president of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists. |
