Phillip Fletcher is a partner in the London office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP. He was previously resident in the Firm's Hong Kong and New York offices and is the managing partner of the firm's European offices.
Phill has been a member of the firm's Global Project Finance Group for more than 20 years. His experience includes representing parties in the development and financing of oil and gas, natural resource, independent power, satellite and other infrastructure projects in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His most recent assignments have included representing parties in a wide range of independent power and water projects; lenders on a range of mining projects in Africa and Latin America; lenders on an LNG project in the Middle East; lenders on a European satellite financing; and creditors to Drax and Teesside, two of the largest power project restructurings in the U.K. He has particular expertise in multisourced financings, including those through official credit agencies and the capital markets.
Phill has lectured at conferences addressing the negotiation of project documentation, has written numerous articles on project financing, and has been recognized as a leading project finance lawyer by a number of journals, including Euromoney (which has recognised him as among the top 30 projects lawyers in the world), the International Who's Who of Project Finance Lawyers 2007, Legal 500, PLC and Chambers and Partners (which has designated him among the 1st tier of projects lawyers in London). Phill is on the advisory board of the International Financial Law Review.
Phill holds graduate degrees in both law and international economics. He is fluent in French. |
