Phillip Baldwin is Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Bancorp, a $550 million development bank holding company that operates three development banks and four non-profit organizations in Arkansas and Mississippi.
Mr. Baldwin currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement, the Arkansas Excellence Commission, Smiley Technologies, Inc.,
Southern Bancorp and is a founding member of the Board of Directors of Pinnacle Bank in Little Rock, Arkansas
With over 25 years experience in banking, Mr. Baldwin began his career in the banking services group of Ernst and Young, managed the Arkansas banking practice comprising over 50 banking institutions and was a member of Ernst & Young’s national mergers and acquisitions team. Prior to joining Southern Bancorp, Mr. Baldwin was Director of Corporate Finance for Dillards, Inc., a $9 billion department store chain. Mr. Baldwin is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
