Phillip G. Nichols is one of the founding members of the firm. Mr. Nichols specializes in commercial real estate joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions as well as other complex real estate-related matters. His experience also includes financings, workouts and commercial leasing.
The clients he has represented include: Blackstone Realty Advisors, Faison & Associates, Inc., Farallon Capital Management, L.L.C., GEM Investors, Inc., JMB Realty Corporation, Lexington Commercial, Regent Properties, Starwood Capital Group, Urban Shopping Centers, Inc., Walton Street Capital and Westrust Financial.
Mr. Nichols received his J.D. in 1974 from UCLA School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of Coif. In 1968, he received his bachelor\'s degree, cum laude, from Occidental College, where he majored in philosophy.
Mr. Nichols is very active in community matters. He has served as president of the Occidental College Alumni Association. Mr. Nichols is a member of the board of directors of Alternative Living for the Aging, a non-profit organization that addresses housing needs of senior citizens with very limited means. In his involvement with issues affecting the homeless, Mr. Nichols served for more than 10 years on the board of directors of Shelter Partnership, an organization that provides goods and technical assistance to homeless shelters, and is a past chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Committee on the Homeless. Mr. Nichols is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and is active in the Los Angeles Real Estate & Construction Industries Council for City of Hope.
Mr. Nichols is a member of the real estate section of the State Bar of California and is a member of the real estate section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Mr. Nichols served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969 to 1971.
