Dr. Small received his Ph.D. in the area of solid phase synthesis. He then established a new polymer group within Unilever Research where he developed new polymer supports for peptide synthesis. Dr. Small, as a Team Leader, helped to establish the first combinatorial chemistry company in the UK, Oxford Diversity, where he worked on the development of solid phase techniques for building small molecule combinatorial libraries for Pfizer. He moved to Head of Chemistry at OSI and set up their automation group for developing high throughput synthesis. In his current role, Vice President of High Throughput Chemistry, Dr. Small is responsible for generating 3,000-4,000 compounds per week into the LeadQuest general screening library. |
