Mr. Smith has managed numerous strategic transactions for clients, employers or as a principal in the areas of real estate, electric power generation, cable television, natural gas transportation and oil and gas exploration. Earlier he served as President of Tri-Valley Oil and Gas, a California exploration company, President of American Energy, Inc., a Los Angeles based Energy Company, and later as sole principal in Capital Energy, Inc. Until recently, Mr. Smith transacted business through Smith Associates, which was formed to fulfill "outsourced" corporate finance and business development functions for small and medium sized businesses. Mr. Smith sits on the boards of Lighting Technologies International, CEYX® Technologies, Inc., and Gump's, current portfolio investments of the Partnership. Additionally, he managed the transactional aspects of power generation for KN Energy. Mr. Smith holds a BS degree in finance from the University of Denver. |
