Phil Mahoney, one of the most successful service providers at Cornish & Carey, earned his degree in economics at Stanford University where he played varsity football. A native of Boston, he and his wife, Kelly, and three children now make their home in Los Altos Hills. Phil’s education and experience in the intensely competitive world of intercollegiate athletics helped prepare him for his career in commercial brokerage. He brings to his clients a unique knowledge, perspective, and awareness of the successful technology markets serving the Boston Area and the Santa Clara Valley. In his 24th straight year among Cornish & Carey Commercial’s elite list of top five producers, Phil has negotiated over 750 transactions totaling approximately 35 million square feet of space valued at over $10 billion. In 1995 - 2000 and 2006, with over 1.6 million, 1.8 million, 1.8 million, 1.6 million, 2.4 million, 6 million, and 3.8 million square feet worth of transactions, respectively, he was the top square footage producer in all of the Silicon Valley. Having been nominated for eleven straight years, Phil was named Broker of the Year for all of Silicon Valley for 1989, 1993, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2005 and 2006. In 1995, he became one of the few Hall of Fame brokers of the Valley as elected by his peers. The San Jose Business Journal rated Phil the #1 Broker for all of Silicon Valley from 1999-2001 and again in 2004 and 2006. Phil was the top producing broker in the nation in 2000 with 6 million square feet of transaction totaling $2.8 billion. In 2006, Phil again led Silicon Valley by being involved in a combined 3.8 million square feet of transactions worth an additional $1.25 billion. Tenacious and dedicated, Phil counts among his clients Fortune 500 firms seeking to expand, and start-up companies looking for that first facility. Clients from start-ups to Palm, Netscape/AOL, Hewlett Packard, NEC, Kaiser, Agilent, BEA Systems and Network Appliance have relied heavily upon Phil’s expertise and comprehensive understanding not only of the marketplace, but also of the real estate process as a whole. In addition to his successes in the leasing market, Phil has sold numerous buildings, and has been involved in some of the most significant purchases of commercial/industrial property in the history of Silicon Valley. In 1992, Phil was appointed as Senior Vice President and Manager of the Santa Clara office. In the fall of 1995, he left his managerial post and became a partner with Cornish & Carey Commercial. Phil now helps lead the Corporate and Institutional Services Group. |
