Phil Bowman is Senior Vice President of Development for First Industrial Realty Trust’s Southern California region, where he is responsible for investments and acquisitions in California’s Inland Empire and Orange County markets, and oversees development for all of Southern California. Prior to joining First Industrial, Mr. Bowman owned Sandalwood Advisors, Inc., a real estate investment and advisory company that invested as a principal and advised third parties across a broad spectrum of property types. He has over 23 years of commercial real estate experience.
Before forming Sandalwood, Mr. Bowman spent nine years at Lennar Partners, now LNR Property Corporation, where he headed development and investments in Northern California and Northern Nevada. Previously, he was responsible for sourcing, structuring, underwriting and closing real estate opportunities ranging from office, retail, industrial, multi-family, hospitality, land and military bases, to non-participating debt, participating mezzanine debt and CMBS investments. Prior to that, Mr. Bowman was Director of REO for Lennar Partners directing all aspects of development, operations and dispositions for the Western US. Before joining Lennar Partners, Mr. Bowman was Vice President of MIP Properties in Santa Monica, where he directed marketing, leasing, property management, legal, tax and finance for a $100 million portfolio. Mr. Bowman began his real estate career in 1983 with Transwestern Property Company marketing and developing office and industrial projects in Dallas and Chicago.
Mr. Bowman earned a Masters in Business Administration in management from the University of Arizona and a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from Southern Methodist University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, National Association of Office and Industrial Properties, the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Real Estate Investment Advisory Council of Los Angeles, and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in California. |
