Dr. Lee is an Assistant Professor in Medicine (hematology) and a member of the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Stanford University. His research focuses on understanding the biology of the immune response to cancer. Dr. Lee's research seeks to establish how the immune system distinguishes between a normal cell and a cancer cell, the molecular mechanisms by which cancer cells modulate the immune response, and how different treatments (e.g. chemotherapy, radiation, transplantation, biotherapies, etc.) - impact the balance between tumor cell proliferation and the immune response. Dr. Lee was the recipient of the Era of Hope Award for breast cancer research in 2006. |
