Peter T. Dameris is President and Chief Executive Officer of On Assignment, Inc. Mr. Dameris joined On Assignment in November 2003. Before joining On Assignment, Inc., Mr. Dameris served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Quanta Services (NYSE: PWR) from February 2001 until October 21, 2002, at which time he resigned to pursue other interests. Mr. Dameris was recruited to provide succession planning for the CEO position. Quanta Services generates over two billion dollars in revenues, has over 13,000 employees and operates over 14,000 pieces of rolling stock and specialized equipment. The company’s comprehensive services include designing, installing, repairing and maintaining network infrastructure nationwide for the electric, gas, telecommunications, broadband and cable television industries. Mr. Dameris was responsible for the creation of an effective regional operating organization for 85 acquired businesses. In addition, Mr. Dameris developed materials to support external marketing and a national corporate image to support the companies outsourcing initiatives. Prior to Mr. Dameris joining the company, the main focus of the organization was acquisitions. During Mr. Dameris tenure, Quanta retired over $160,000,000 of debt, with cash generated from operations, and went from negative cash flow, to $101,000,000 in free cash flow in the fiscal year 2001. Mr. Dameris established corporate operating initiatives of cash generation, credit management, balance sheet improvement, management of fixed costs and reduction of cost of services sold. Mr. Dameris served as Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of Metamor Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: MMWW), an international IT consulting company with approximately $800 million in 2000 consolidated revenues, 100 offices across the world and 6,000 employees. Mr. Dameris previously served in various capacities with Metamor, including Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and European Operations, General Counsel and Secretary. Mr. Dameris was responsible for the repositioning of the company as a pure-systems integration Company and the reorganization of the company into two business units from five. Mr. Dameris has met with over 300 management teams in connection with execution of the company’s M&A program.
Under Mr. Dameris’ leadership, Metamor sold 20% of its holdings in its wholly owned subsidiary, Xpedior, to the public through a registered public offering underwritten by Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. The public offering generated proceeds in excess of $160 million. At the time, it was the largest Internet services public offering. During his tenure with Metamor, Mr. Dameris completed two IPOs and raised over $700 million through two follow-on offerings and one convertible debt offering. In addition, Mr. Dameris led the divestitures of three business units, which generated purchase price consideration in excess of $675 million in cash. On March 18, 2000, Mr. Dameris negotiated the $1.9 billion sale of Metamor to PSINet, the Internet Super Carrier. On June 15, 2000, that transaction was completed. At the time the transaction was announced and agreed upon, the premium paid for Metamor was 178% above the previous day’s closing price. Mr. Dameris acted as President of the worldwide operations of PSINet Consulting Solutions until September 30, 2000.
From 1997 until June of 2000, Mr. Dameris served on the Executive Committee of Metamor Worldwide, overseeing the management and strategy of the business. Prior to joining Metamor, Mr. Dameris served as outside counsel to the company and was a partner with the law firm of Cochran, Rooke and Craft LLP.
Mr. Dameris was also Executive Vice President, Secretary and a Director of Xpedior, Incorporated, a $240 million publicly traded e-business solutions provider, which was 80% owned by Metamor. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Xuma, Inc., an e-business software company based in San Francisco, California; U.S. Concrete Inc., a publicly traded provider of ready-mix concrete and related products, Bindview Development Corp., a publicly traded internet software company; Signal Tree Solutions, a private Indian offshore development company; and Decan Groupe, a French publicly traded IT services company. |
