Dr Peter R. Eiseman has been a leading innovator in the field of grid generation and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). He has authored more than 150 related publications, including many invited articles and review papers. He is an active member of several organizations that premote the development of technologies relating to CFD and computer simulation. These include, but are not limited to: International Society of Grid Generation (ISGG) [founding member and vice president] U.S. Association of Computational Mechanics (USACM) [founding member] International Conference Series on Numerical Grid Generation [organizing committee] Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering [associate editor] American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) American Institue of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Computer Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) American Mathematical Society (AMS) Dr. Eiseman recieved his B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1966 and his M.S. and Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1967 and 1970 respectively, concentraiting in geometry and topology. From 1970 to 1973 he served as a Captain in the United States Air Force at Kirtland AFB, working on nuclear weapon effects, laser technology, mathematical research and CFD. From 1973 until 1978 he was a research scientist at the United Technologies Research Center (UTRC), working mainly with CFD and turbomachinery. Along with H. McDonald (who later served as the director of NASA Ames), he left UTRC and joined Scientific Research Associates with H. McDonald as president. From 1979 until 1981, Dr. Eiseman was a research scientist at NASA Langley Research Center. Later, from 1981 to 1989, he served as a professor of applied physics at Columbia University. While there, he established PDC in order to develop and market the GridPro software suite. Since that time, he has led the company to develop a solid suite of GridPro products with significant international market presence and a high profile customer base. |
