Pete Lawson is the Executive Vice President - Development for Health Management Associates Inc. Mr. Lawson joined the company in April 1998 as Vice President of the Western Division. In December 1999 Mr. Lawson was promoted to Senior Vice President and then Executive Vice President Hospital Operations as an officer of the company in June 2001. In 2007 he assumed responsibility for all development activity which includes Mergers Acquisitions Sales and Partnerships with hospital systems and physicians. Mr. Lawson has been employed in the healthcare field for 30 years eight as a hospital staff employee and 22 years in executive leadership. Mr. Lawson’s executive management experience has been entirely with investor owned healthcare corporations including Humana HCA Phymatrix and the last nine years with HMA. Mr. Lawson received his Bachelor of Business degree with a concentration in Management Information Systems from the University of Notre Dame and his Master’s in Health Administration from Duke University. In 1995 he was awarded Modern Healthcare’s Up and Comer Award. |
