Peter Schuyler is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the New York office. As a member of the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department, Peter focuses his practice on licensing, contract matters and intellectual property litigation, including patents, copyrights and trademarks.
Representative Matters
Defended a major pharmaceutical company's patent rights from infringement by generic manufacturers.
Represented an electronic equipment manufacturer in multiple breach of contract and patent infringement actions against competitors.
Represented a computer software company in breach of contract and theft of trade secrets actions against programming consultant.
Defended an antifriction bearing manufacturer in arbitration with customer over breach of warranty and contract claims.
While in law school, Peter served as associate editor of the Fordham Moot Court Board. He also served as a judicial extern to Chambers of Justice, Edward Rappaport, Supreme Court, Brooklyn, New York.
Prior to law school, Peter was a senior engineer for the General Dynamics Corporation, Electric Boat Division.
Peter is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Peter is a member of the New York City Bar and the New York Intellectual Property Law Association.
