Peter J. Neff has been a member of the UST Board of Directors since December 1997. He serves as chairman of the Compensation Committee and as a member of the Strategic Review Committee.
Mr. Neff is the former president and chief executive officer of Rhone-Poulenc, Inc., the North American subsidiary of Rhone-Poulenc S.A. He joined the Company in 1987 as president and chief operating officer. In 1991, he was elected chief executive officer.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Neff has served as the chief executive officer of St. Joe Minerals Corp., Genovo Inc. and Energy Research Corp.
Mr. Neff has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Rider University.
In addition, he has served as a director of Homestake Mining Company, Envirogen Inc., Zurich Reinsurance Corp. and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Inc., now Aventis Inc.
Mr. Neff has also served as a director of the Chemicals Manufacturing Association, National Association of Manufacturers, French American Chamber of Commerce, Chilean American Chamber of Commerce, Argentine American Chamber of Commerce and the Australian American Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Neff graduated from Rutgers University and received his Master of Business Administration degree from Rider University. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard destroyer escorts. |
