Peter E. Pront is a partner and head of Seward & Kissel's Tax group. Mr. Pront joined the firm in 1979, and has been a partner since 1983.
Mr. Pront's practice involves advising clients on a wide variety of domestic and international tax issues with an emphasis on matters involving the financial services industry. In particular, Mr. Pront has extensive experience relating to the taxation of financial products, including debt, equity and derivative instruments, and various pooled investment vehicles. Mr. Pront has published articles and has lectured on a number of tax topics.
Mr. Pront received a degree in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island in 1972 graduating magna cum laude as an accounting major. He received a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1975 (where he was an editor of the Journal of International Law and Business) and a Masters of Law in Taxation degree from New York University Law School in 1976 (where he was a graduate editor of the Tax Law Review). |
