Peter Kain is United's Vice President - Labor Relations. He is based at the company's operations center in suburban Chicago.
Named to the position in 2001, he is responsible for the negotiation and administration of United's U.S. labor agreements, and the coordination of international bargaining. He is also responsible for United's internal dispute resolution procedures, including all System Boards of Adjustment, and for Equal Employee Opportunity compliance. Kain joined United in 1975.
Prior to assuming his current position, Kain served as director of People Services in North America from 1998 to 2001. Before that, he served as director of Labor Relations for ground employees between 1988 and 1998. He has held various industrial and labor relations positions throughout the company.
Kain holds a master's degree in business administration from Wayne State University and a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Detroit. He is the president of the Airline Industrial Relations Conference and is a member of Public Action to Deliver Shelter Northwest. |
