Peter B. Dervan, PhD joined Gilead in August 1987 as a founding member (with D. Melton and H. Weintraub) of the Scientific Advisory Board. He has been Professor of Chemistry in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology since 1973. Dr. Dervan's research interests are focused on the chemistry of nucleic acids and targeting the genetic material as a therapeutic strategy. Dr. Dervan is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Philosophical Society and the Institute of Medicine. He serves on the Board of Directors of Beckman Coulter and the Scientific Advisory Board of the Robert A. Welch Foundation. |
