Paul Rutledge is President - Central Group of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA, the nation’s leading provider of healthcare services. He is responsible for HCA’s hospital operations in Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia, where 55 hospitals are located.
Prior to his current role, Rutledge served as President of HCA’s MidAmerica Division which includes 14 hospitals in Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana, from January of 2001 through the end of 2005. He has served in leadership capacities with HCA for more than 20 years, working with hospitals in New Orleans, LA, Rome, GA and Nashville, TN. He was named President of Centennial Medical Center in 1993 and promoted to President of TriStar Health System in 1996.
A Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives, Rutledge earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in health administration from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
His civic involvement includes board membership with the Federation of American Hospitals, Jason Foundation and the Brentwood Baptist Foundation. He has previously served on the board of the Tennessee Hospital Association as Chairman, the Brentwood Academy Board of Trustees as Chairman.
Rutledge and his wife Susan have two children and two grandchildren.
