Mr. Plath is one of the founders and is Senior Vice President of E3
Consulting. As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Mr. Plath is
responsible for identifying, maintaining and expanding the E3’s core
technical competencies and managing the quality assurance procedures
for the Company’s consulting products. In his role as CTO, Mr. Plath
manages technical reviews of unique or emerging technologies and
forms special study teams where required.
Mr. Plath has over 23 years of experience in engineering and consulting
working on power and industrial projects. His experience includes gas
and electric distribution engineering, energy conservation studies,
technical due diligence for project finance and acquisition, performance
and economic modeling, construction monitoring, performance testing,
and operations audits. He has provided technical due diligence consulting
for private debt placements, leases, and public offerings in support of the
financing of over $6 billion for power and industrial projects. Mr. Plath
specializes in evaluating performance and economic data, developing
financial forecasts, and assessing technical risk issues as they affect
project economics.

Industrial Facility and Power Plant Due Diligence. Since 1985, Mr.
Plath has managed and performed due diligence reviews to support the
financing or acquisition of over 60 power, energy, or industrial projects.
Projects reviewed cover a wide variety of power generation technologies,
petrochemical plants, mining and manufacturing facilities.
Technology Assessment. Mr. Plath has significant experience with gas
turbine technology and has written numerous reports and papers on new
and emerging gas turbine technologies for electric power generation. He
specializes in assembling technical assessment teams to evaluate new
technologies; processes and applications. His in-depth technology
assessments have supported the financing of several first-of-a-kind
projects.
Operating Facility Reviews. Mr. Plath has provided long-term operations
and maintenance reviews for over a dozen projects. His services include
condition assessment, performance trending and assessment,
management and cost review, maintenance planning, and environmental
compliance.
