Mr. O’Brien is the CEO of the O’Brien Group and former Chairman and CEO of New England Telephone (now Verizon). He brings more than 30 years of executive experience and leadership in the communications and information technology industry. Prior to his role as Chairman and CEO of New England Telephone, Mr. O’Brien served as Chairman and President of NYNEX Material Enterprises. Concurrent with his retirement from NYNEX in December of 1994, Mr. O’Brien formed the O’Brien Group, Inc. a telecom investment firm. In 1995, Mr. O’Brien assumed the Presidency of Pan-Asia Development, an investment firm concentrating on Asian ventures. In addition to Safecore, Mr. O’Brien serves as Chairman of Cequent Holdings and on the Board of Directors of SONEXIS and the Computer Merchant. He has previously served on the board of Bank Boston, Shiva Corporation, First Pacific Networks, and Cambridge Neuro Science Networks. Mr. O’Brien serves in civic and charitable organizations including the United Way of Massachusetts Bay, as a member of the Executive Committee; The Wang Center for the Performing Arts, as a trustee; and One-to-One/the Mass Mentoring Partnership, where he is the co-founder. Mr. O’Brien has an MBA from NYU and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College. |
