Paul started his career with Shell 27 years ago at the Martinez Refinery, after gaining a degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University. After a number of assignments at Martinez, he moved to the Deer Park Refinery in 1993, first as an operations start-up manager and then as operations manager for hydro-processing and sulfur recovery. In 1997, following a spell in Central Refining Support in Houston, he returned to Martinez as operations manager for delayed coking. In 2000, he was appointed production manager for the Martinez and Bakersfield refineries. In 2003, Paul was assigned to the Los Angeles refinery as technology and business manager. He held that role for two years before being appointed as production manager. Paul took up his current assignment as General Manager of the Scotford Chemicals site on 15 January 2007. In March, 2008 he assumed the role of General Manager, Scotford Refinery in addition to his role as General Manager Scotford Chemicals. Paul is married with four sons. Outside work he enjoys golf and backpacking. |
