Mr. Bauer is a Legislative Advocate in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Sacramento office and a member of the Government Relations Group. He pilots government relations efforts in Sacramento, representing the firm’s water, transportation and local government clients before California state government entities. With nearly 15 years of experience as a registered lobbyist in Sacramento, Mr. Bauer has gathered an impressive amount of experience lobbying at the state level. He gained significant experience in California water and infrastructure matters representing the San Diego County Water Authority from 1996 to 2002, and the Southern California Association of Governments since 2002. In 2006 Mr. Bauer was heavily involved in the enactment of Assembly Bill 1467 by Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, as well as its follow-up measure, Assembly Bill 521 by Assembly Member Sharon Runner. Together these two bills authorized the use of public-private partnerships for goods movement projects in California. As California faces a growing crisis in infrastructure funding, it will become increasingly necessary to bring private capital to the table. Public-private partnerships will help to bridge the funding gap between public funds available and the public’s infrastructure needs. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Bauer founded Bauer Government Relations, a legislative advocacy firm based in Sacramento. Upon graduation from the University California, San Diego, in 1993, he joined the Patricia Gayman Government Relations firm and began representing the San Diego County Board of Supervisors. He brings a broad spectrum of contacts and well-established skill set to Government Relations Group. Mr. Bauer has developed strong working relationships with several statewide private and public sector associations as well as contacts throughout the California state legislature and governor’s administration. |
