Mr. Schmitt joined PA Early Stage Partners as a Managing Director in 1999 and heads the firms’ Life Science Practice. PA Early Stage is a family of venture capital funds that invests in seed, start-up and early stage life sciences and information technology companies. A former CEO of three life science companies, Mr. Schmitt brings extensive operating experience to the fund. In addition, he has raised in excess of $100 million through private placements, an IPO, joint ventures and corporate partnerships. Prior to joining PA Early Stage, Mr. Schmitt was Chairman, President and CEO of Chrysalis International Corporation. (NASDAQ: CRLS.) Mr. Schmitt is a board member of a variety of Life Science companies and serves on the Boards of the Wistar Institute of the University of Pennsylvania, Rutgers University School of Business, and the Penn State Research Foundation. Mr. Schmitt received his BS in Finance at Lehigh University, and his MBA from Rutgers University. |
