Dr. Dietze's practice focuses on all aspects of patent prosecution involving both domestic and foreign prosecution predominately in the areas of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food sciences, polymers, and glass coatings, including drafting applications, responding to office actions, interviewing Examiners, preparing patent term extensions, conducting reissue and re-examination proceedings, and preparing and arguing appeals before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences; and counseling clients, including portfolios analysis and evaluation, developing and implementing strategic patent programs, and drafting patentability, infringement, non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate opinions. Dr. Dietze has also been involved in litigation support.
Dr. Dietze has authored sixteen scientific publications in pier reviewed journals and presented his research at numerous national and international scientific meetings. He is a member of the American Chemical Society. Prior to practicing law, Dr. Dietze was an associate professor of chemistry at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and Earlham College.
