Paul Finley began his career at Algoma Steel in 1981. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1978 where he earned a B.A. (economics) and an L.L.B. He was called to the bar in 1979. During Mr. Finley’s 25 years of service at Algoma, he has held positions in the legal, human resources and business development areas including solicitor, assistant secretary, manager internal communications, assistant to the vice president employee relations and human resources, general counsel and corporate secretary, vice president business development and corporate secretary from 2001 to 2006, and as of May 2006, vice president business planning and corporate secretary. Over the past several years, Mr. Finley has played a senior management role in the Company’s significant business and human resource issues. In particular, he was part of Algoma’s senior management team responsible for the Company’s two financial restructurings and the associated collective bargaining and human resource issues. |
