Paul has served as vice president of software engineering since January 2005. He has 22 years of technology and management experience in commercial application software development. Prior to joining Synchris, Paul was chief software architect and vice president of software development at Descartes Systems Group for seven years. He led the software teams responsible for all enterprise transportation planning and mobile/wireless products, with overall management of software design and development, quality assurance, documentation, project and release management, configuration management, and language localization.
Before Descartes, Paul was vice president of software development for Roadshow International, a commercial transportation management software company. He worked with Roadshow for 11 years, and was a member of the technology and management team that built the company from an early-stage startup into a profitable company, resulting in a successful $40 million acquisition.
Paul began his software career in 1983 as a programmer with the National Association of Realtors, where he developed commercial distributed mortgage application software. Paul has a Certificate in Computer Systems Applications from the University of Southern California Computer Training Center. His educational experience includes Reed College and University of Maryland University College, and he is a member of the IEEE Computer Society and Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
