Dr. Patrick Lemieux is a Managing Engineer in Exponent's Thermal Sciences practice. He specializes in thermo-fluid mechanics and aviation issues. His research focuses on heat transfer issues thermodynamics and instabilities of high-speed flows. His areas of expertise cover traditional flow visualization techniques (such as shadowgraphy and holographic interferometry) as well as non-conventional techniques developed specifically for tagging hypervelocity flows. Dr. Lemieux's research work also includes the development of dynamic techniques to test electronic components under loads produced by extremely high acceleration and failure mode analyses of flameless high temperature oxidation reactors. Other areas of research interest include aerodynamic studies of rotors combustion processes fires and explosions and analyses of Flight Data Recorders for airplane accident reconstruction. |
