Patrick received his university level education in the United Kingdom. A food scientist by training he also holds a graduate level diploma in management studies. A specialist in industrial dairying he began his career as Technical Consultant at Unigate Foods Ltd. United Kingdom. He returned to Malaysia in 1976 to join the Fima Group a quasi government food production company. During his career at Fima he was nominated by the Government to represent Malaysia on the Food Standards Committee of the World Health Organization and was co-opted as member of the Malaysian Food Standards Committee. Patrick left Fima to establish the first privately owned milk pasteurization plant in Malaysia.
In 1988 Patrick established Secured Digital Applications (M) Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Animated Electronic Industries Sdn Bhd) with the objective of developing and implementing the first wireless remote video surveillance network in Malaysia. Patrick's perseverance and his demonstrated depth of knowledge in broadband technology lead to the granting of the first Malaysian license to establish and operate a countrywide wireless broadband network in 1997. SDAM's subsidiary Perwimas Telecommunications holds and operates under that license. In addition to his current responsibilities at Secured Digital Applications Inc and Perwimas he also advises Malaysian content developers in the production of multimedia content and value-added applications for the broadband industry. |
